Taunting the Biker

Taunting the Biker - I do not have a publishing date as of yet (sorry). Pre-orders will be arriving soon... after I complete Forget Me Not (a thriller written under Kristen Middleton).

Twenty-three year old Charlie (Charlotte) has a love-hate relationship with her father Tony Armati, a rich and powerful man connected to the mafioso. Loving, but manipulative, Tony tries to control every aspect of her life, including the guys she dates. This irritates the hell out of Charlie, who decides to strike back by going out with a man her father would never approve of… and equally dangerous.

Maddox Jones (Mad Dog to his friends) is the nephew of Bastard, the founding president of the Gold Vipers MC and newest edition to the Jensen, Iowa Chapter. A fearless hell-raiser, Mad Dog takes what he wants and right now it’s Charlie Armati, who walks into his life with a baseball bat and some deeply rooted daddy issues. When he learns that she’s using him to piss off her old man, Mad Dog tries cutting his losses but finds it’s not so easy, especially with a beautiful, woman like Charlie, who can be just as manipulative as her father.

Life is good and he's never been happier, until he becomes the target of an assassin. A woman who isn't just psychotic, but the most beautiful creature he's ever laid eyes on.

Whenever things turned ugly, she went to that special place in her mind, where childhood memories kept her sane. The faint but cherished ones of her older brother, Andrew, the guy who used to sing her lullabies and make early morning pancakes. Years pass and memories fade… but not completely, and when Ava finally gets her shit together, she decides to search for her long-lost brother. When she learns he's been murdered by the Gold Vipers, she sets out to destroy everyone involved, including Hollywood, one of the last to see Andrew alive.

Meet Dodger, the newest prospect of the Gold Vipers and long, lost half-brother to Raptor and Jordan Steele (The Judge). Cocky and arrogant, just like his siblings, he doesn't much like doing the grunt work expected out of him, but willing to do what it takes to prove his worthiness to the club. Even during Christmas, which isn't exactly his favorite time of the year. Amused by his Scrooginess, Raptor puts him in charge of collecting holiday donations and dressing up as Santa Claus for several biker events, which doesn’t exactly put Dodger in the holiday spirit.

Chloe Wilson loves the holidays and happily volunteers to help the Gold Vipers collect toys and raise money for the homeless. Then... she is thrown together with Dodger, the grumpy biker who obviously doesn’t like Christmas. The two clash, at first, but then holiday magic catches up with them when they get trapped in a blizzard together.

**This book is intended for readers 18 years old or older due to the explicit language, sexual situations, and violence that may be upsetting to some readers. This is a work of fiction and is not meant to be a true depiction of a motorcycle club. It was written for entertainment only.

Young and influenced by her parents, Lily was forced to obey their rules, hurting Vaughn in the process.

-Fast forward six years later-

Lily, who moved away to Chicago after high school, is back in town for a family reunion. She runs into Vaughn and finds that he's sexier than ever, but still holding a grudge. Still, there is no denying the attraction they have for each other and eventually things heat up between the couple. Their relationship comes with a price, however. Vaughn is now a patched member of the Steel Bandits and his world is dangerous, especially for Lily now that his enemies know what she means to him...

Why do I enjoy being an Indie author?

A lot of people asked me why I remain Indie. It's not that I haven't ever been offered a traditional publishing contract. I have. Especially in the very beginning, after writing my Zombie Games series (yes, I wrote horror and fantasy long before my steamy biker stories). But, after publishing twenty-nine books, I feel like I've accomplished a hell of a lot on my own and it's an exhilarating feeling.

Other reasons:

*I don't have to answer to anyone but myself. I am my own boss. For some writers it doesn't always work well. Yes, I still have deadlines and need to remain focused, but at the end of the day, I'm answering to myself. Whether I fail or succeed is in my hands.

* I can write what I want and when I want. In fact, I write several different genres, including horror, fantasy, romance, and YA. My pen names are Cassie Alexandra, K.L. Middleton, and Kristen Middleton.
*I'm leaving it up to the readers as to whether my books are enjoyable, and not someone at a publishing house who just might not "get" my writing. Not everyone is going to like my books. I respect that. But, I want to publish something that I've enjoyed writing and not get any road-blocks or forced to make plot or character changes.

*I am making the decisions on my book covers, my pricing, and where I want to sell my work. I can also hire my own editors, pay for my own advertising, and market the way that I want to market. I'm in charge and if I fail, I learn from the experience and move forward.

*I've motivated others to publish their own work. There are so many people out there who have wonderful stories to tell and do not realize that they can bypass a traditional publisher. Especially if they've been turned down. No, you might not be able to make a living on your self-published book, but on the other hand, if you do have a real talent for storytelling, you just never know what the future might bring.

I've always loved reading, especially horror stories. From early on, I had my nose buried in Stephen King, Dean Koontz,  F. Paul Wilson, and Peter Straub's books. I can still remember how disturbed I was, at the young age of nine, after reading Ghost Story. To this day, I don't think I've ever read anything so creepy and fantastic. Now, over thirty years later, I'm writing and publishing my own books, which is something I would have never dreamed possible. It's a dream come true and if it wasn't for Amazon's self-publishing platform, I'd never be where I am today. I am so very grateful and honored to be included in Amazon's Powered By Indie this October. They have changed the writing industry and for me, it's been nothing but joy and success.

Loving The Biker

If you've been wondering what's next in The Biker series, it will be this book, Loving The Biker. I do not have a publishing date, but it should be available early summer and it will wrap up anything that has loose ends, in the series. Will it be my last biker book? At this point, I'm really not sure. I have been thinking about writing a series about ultimate fighters or even secret agents. Both sound fun to write.

Loving The Biker synopsis -

When Detective Terin O’Brien is assigned to an investigation involving the Gold Vipers, she is blind-sided by the strong attraction she has for Cole Johnson. Not only is he the main suspect in the case, but he’s also a man who once came to her rescue, during a botched arrest. Now Terin is caught between wanting Cole behind bars and wanting him as a man, which she knows is wrong, stupid, and above all else… dangerous.
Cole Johnson will do anything to protect his club and the person responsible for the murder he’s being questioned for. When he comes face-to-face with Terin O’Brien, a familiar face and the lead investigator in the case, he soon realizes that she’s fighting an obvious attraction for him. Using this to his advantage, he turns on the charm to steer the beautiful detective away from the investigation and into his bed.

Yeah, it’s a tough job, but Cole’s willing to take one for the club…
